Dean Message

Dr. Lesbia Hernández
Dean School of Pharmacy

Greetings!  Welcome to the webpage of the University of Puerto Rico - School of Pharmacy.  In it you will find information on our history, mission, goals, admission requirements, our academic programs, faculty and alumni.

Our achievements have been significant due to the collaboration of the faculty, staff, students and academic administrative team. The strategic plan aligned with the strategic agenda of the University of Puerto Rico, “Ten for the Decade” endeavors to develop sustained ties to the student body, an academic culture of currency and assessment, competitive research, and leadership in community initiatives.

We are proud that the Doctor of Pharmacy Program and the Division of Continuing Education are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and The Residency in Pharmacy Program is accredited by the American Society of Healthy System Pharmacists.

The Medicinal Plants Garden was re-inaugurated and named Dr. Esteban Núñez Meléndez.  It is part of the reengineered Pharmacy and Medicinal Plants Museum of the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Pharmacy. The Museum will facilitate research, education and service in the area of natural products and drug discovery by providing the facilities for workshops and meetings for the community.

The School is in continuous transformation. The Graduate Program curriculum is being modified to a MS/PhD. A new building for the School is under construction. This building will provide needed facilities to support the School’s mission and vision.

The Drug Information Center has revised its mission and expanded its scope of services to promote effective and safe drug use.

We are confident that this coming year will continue to be a year of achievements for the School of Pharmacy of the University of Puerto Rico. I invite you to browse through the different links on this webpage to learn more about us.
